Venture Construction Group of Florida Raises Funds for Anchorage Children’s Home

Local Storm Damage Restoration Company Sponsors Team in 5K to Support At-Risk Youth

BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla.— Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) sponsored Team Evolve in the 2nd Annual House United Halloween Haul 5K & Fun Run on Oct. 26 to benefit Anchorage Children’s Home. The race began at 8:00 a.m. at M&B Railroad Park with a Fun Run for all ages, followed by a free Trick or Treat Trot for children and a costume contest. Prizes were awarded for fastest male and female runners overall, as well as the top three male and female racers from seven different age groups: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Entry fees were $20 per person. All proceeds benefitted Hidle House at Anchorage Children’s Home.

“We are so proud to participate in this 5K to benefit Hidle House, an emergency shelter for youth. I used to work there as a therapist, and the cause is near and dear to my heart,” says Bethany Thompson, MS, life coach & certified yoga instructor, Team Evolve.

Anchorage Children’s Home provides numerous programs and services for abused, abandoned and neglected youth. Hidle House provides a 24-hour emergency shelter for runaway youth ages 10-17. Bridge Transitional Living provides housing for homeless youth ages 16-22, along with life skills training. Hannah’s Transitional Living provides housing for homeless pregnant mothers ages 16-22 and their infants, along with parenting training. The Sibling Group Home provides housing for youth ages 8-12 who are currently in the foster care system, allowing sibling groups to stay together. Anchorage Children’s Home provides counseling, life skills training, education advancement, employment opportunities, and a street outreach and recovery program that serves over 200 homeless youth per year.

Team Evolve participates in a number of races each year that support a variety of local charities. VCGFL’s annual sponsorship helped Team Evolve with necessary equipment for training and team race participation. Upcoming races include the Team Evolve Race on Dec. 7 in Panama City Beach, Fla.
