Venture Construction Group of Florida Prepares Communities in Florida for Hurricane Irma

Leading Florida Construction Company Prepares for Hurricane; Secures Job Sites, Implements Safety Measures & Community Protection Throughout the State

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) completed a week-long, 24/7 emergency construction site closure in advance of Hurricane Irma. Last Monday, VCGFL began mobilizing 650 site managers and crew members throughout the state to secure commercial projects in progress including condominiums, shopping centers, hotels and office buildings. Jobsite closures spanned the state from Miami to Jacksonville and locations in between including Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Stuart, Palm City, Jensen Beach, Hutchinson Island, Merritt Island, Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, Naples, St. Petersburg, Tampa.

Taking every precaution possible to ensure safety before, during, and after Hurricane Irma, the statewide jobsite closure process included crews working around the clock to complete emergency dry-in, ensure all roofs in progress are water-tight, and remove all equipment, cranes, lifts, and scaffolding from sites. All materials were taken offsite, moved indoors, or secured. Equipment was secured to protect buildings and human life and to prevent further potential damages in the path of Hurricane Irma. The Venture staff and crews completed all jobsite closures on Friday, September 8 at 8 p.m. EST to ensure worker safety per OSHA standards.

“Our staff and crews have worked tirelessly around the clock this week to take every precautionary measure to protect properties and jobsites throughout the state and mitigate any further damage on our sites in the midst of Irma,” says Stephen Shanton, president, CEO and founder of Venture Construction Group of Florida.

Shanton has over 25 years of experience in hurricane, water, wind and storm damage restoration work in Florida. Founded in 1998, VCGFL has helped thousands of property owners, association boards, commercial property owners, and property management companies with storm damage repairs, restoration, 24/7 emergency services, and commercial construction and restoration throughout the state.

Venture completed all pre-Hurricane preparation work for past and present clients this week, and conducted 4K HD Drone Assessments onsite to document the conditions of the properties pre-Hurricane Irma. Venture has deployed all Emergency Management protocols to make sure they are ready to help communities throughout the state with Emergency Services.

The National Hurricane Center has warned Irma could “landfall in Florida as a dangerous major hurricane, and will bring life-threatening wind impacts to much of the state regardless of the exact track of the center.”

According to the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Irma is expected to approach south Florida and the Florida Keys as a potentially catastrophic Category 5 hurricane Sunday morning. Irma is forecast to continue as a strong hurricane over the Florida peninsula Sunday through early Monday morning. Evacuation orders are currently in place for parts of Brevard, Broward, Collier, Flagler, Hendry, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Orange, Palm Beach, Pinellas, St. Lucie, Glades, Hardee, Indian River, Lee, Volusia Counties.
