Hail and Heavy Winds Severely Damage Properties Throughout Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Martin, Palm Beach and Broward Counties
ORLANDO, Fla. — Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) is providing roofing, property repairs and storm damage restoration services due to the massive hailstorms that swept through central and south Florida on April 10-11. The storms brought strong winds upwards of 77 mph and hail ranging from quarter to golf-ball-sized hail throughout Orange, Volusia, Martin, Palm Beach and Broward Counties. The storm left many homes and businesses with severe hail, water, and wind damage in its wake. VCGFL is an accredited, award-winning leader in residential and commercial construction, restoration, renovations, roofing, storm damage repairs, and 24/7 emergency services throughout the state.
“Our Storm Team crews were immediately mobilized. We witnessed uprooted and snapped trees, downed industrial fencing and localized flooding. Our Field Inspectors are working extensively to provide free property inspections and damage assessments,” says Stephen Shanton, CEO and president, Venture Construction Group of Florida.
Areas with reports of severe hail and wind damage in Orange and Seminole counties include Winter Park, Goldenrod, Bertha, Slavia, Oviedo, Fairview Shores, Maitland, Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Winter Springs, Pine Hills, and Lockhart. In Martin County, extensive damage was reported in Port Salerno, Hobe Sound, Jensen Beach, and Sewall’s Point. In Palm Beach County, Jupiter, Jupiter Island, Palm Beach Gardens, and Lake Park also had severe damage. In Broward County, Boca Raton reported severe wind damage, even splitting a large old tree in half and completely uprooting it.
“It’s important to remember that hail and wind damage is not always visible. It can lead to leaks, structural deterioration, premature aging, and weakened roofing structures and exteriors, which means a whole lot more trouble down the road, especially as we approach rainy season and hurricane season,” said Shanton.
Shanton recommends that all homes and businesses in the affected storm areas get a professional inspection by a licensed general contractor.
