Florida Commercial Restoration Company Supports Mudrun for Orphans

NICEVILLE, Fla. Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL), the Premier Platinum sponsor of Team EVOLVE, joined thousands of runners for the 8th Annual Emerald Coast Mudrun for Orphans on May 18 in Niceville. The event included challenging obstacle course races, family fun festival, and live music. The fundraiser supports orphans around the world through nonprofit organization Heart of the Bride for Orphans.

“The Mudrun was a great opportunity to have some fun with obstacles all while supporting a good cause. It feels great knowing all proceeds went to orphans in need around the world,” says Jason Cameron, disaster restoration specialist, Venture Construction Group of Florida.

The day launched with a 10K Elite Warrior race at 8:00am, a 5K Competitor race at 9:00am, a 5K Fun Run at 9:30am and 11:30am, a 1-mile Kids Run at 1:30pm and 2:30pm, and a 5K Zero Dark Dirty race at 8:00pm. All participants received a T-Shirt and a finisher medal. The Zero Dark Dirty race also included a head lamp and glow sticks.

Based in Niceville, Heart of the Bride currently supports nearly 500 orphans and at-risk children in five different countries around the world including Zambia, Kenya, Haiti, India, and Crimea. The support from the community and annual fundraisers has helped raise over $533,000 for orphan care.

Team EVOLVE is a group of community members participating in a variety of Obstacle Course Races and other challenges throughout the year. The team is comprised of VCGFL staff member Jason Cameron, local businesses, and Bay County Sheriff’s Office employees and their family members and led by coach JT Thompson.

Upcoming races for Team Evolve include the Barbarian Challenge on June 15 in Gardsden, Ala.; the Savage Rage on Sept. 21 in Dallas, Ga.; The Bonefrog Challenge on October 19th in Charlotte North Carolina and the Tough Mudder Classic on Nov. 9 in Atlanta, Ga.
