Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) sponsored the “Yoga Means Unity” fundraiser in Marco Island to support victims of the tragic shooting at Hot Yoga Tallahassee in November. The community-wide yoga class took place on Dec. 15 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at South Beach. Marco Island Yoga and Revival Yoga Fitness Studio hosted the event. The class was taught by Debby Amicucci, Laurie Kasperbauer, and Megan Wood of Marco Island Yoga, and Julia Szilagyi of Revival Yoga Fitness Studio. Community members, families, businesses, and all levels of yogis attended the event and raised over $1,115. VCGFL matched that amount.

“Yoga Means Unity” also included health care providers, healers and mental health professionals to support the community in healing. The event featured raffle prizes from local businesses.

On Friday, November 2nd, a lone gunman walked into Hot Yoga Tallahassee posing as a student and shortly after started firing randomly at innocent students in the class. Before taking his own life, he claimed 2 victims and wounded 5 others.

A major advocate of community giving, VCGFL supports numerous charities and volunteers at numerous causes throughout the state each year.
