Leading local construction company sponsors 34th Annual Feed the Hungry event

BOCA RATON, Fla. Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) staff, crews and family members volunteered at the Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI) 34th Annual Feed the Hungry Event. VCGFL was the proud Grand Benefactor Sponsor of the annual event. Held on Nov. 21 from 3:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, thousands of locals were served warm holiday meals of turkey and all the fixings. The VCGFL team volunteered throughout the event with setup, tear-down, registration, and served meals, desserts, and holiday cheer.

For over 30 years, Congregation B’nai Israel has joined forces with Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church to provide a beautiful Thanksgiving meal to thousands of community members in need. Congregation and church members, local restaurants and country clubs, and many other members of the community join together to provide turkey with all the trimmings, pies, cakes, and cookies, and more to individuals and families who would otherwise go without during the holidays.

“We are so grateful for everyone involved in this amazing event. It was an amazing opportunity for us to give back. We are committed to supporting those less fortunate,” says Stephen Shanton, president and CEO of Venture Construction Group of Florida, founder of the Shanton ALS Foundation.

As part of a company-wide annual holiday giving campaign,  VCGFL is committed to giving back. VCGFL is hosting a fundraiser with Kendra Scott to raise awareness for domestic violence on Dec.13 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Kendra Scott, Mizner Park at 411 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. About Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI)

Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI) inspires and connects a diverse community for generations by advancing the richness of Jewish values and traditions through the embrace of Torah (study), Avodah (work), and Gemilut Chasidim (acts of loving kindness). In 1984, four couples and one Rabbi dreamed of starting a new reform synagogue in Boca Raton, Florida. They envisioned a synagogue that was about the people, the “congregation,” and one that had the best school around. Congregation B’nai Israel was formed and soon became the fastest growing reform synagogue in the country. As the congregation grew, we broke ground in 1989 and the home of Congregation B’nai Israel was built. We are now considered one of the landmark reform congregations in the country. With nearly 1,000 families, a religious school and early childhood program over 900 students, CBI is more than just a synagogue. Our programs are rich and varied. We strive to educate and inspire our children, youth, and adults. We encourage our members to actively participate in worship and Torah study. We urge our members to contribute to the continuance and vitality of the Jewish people, to participate in our celebrated social action and philanthropic initiatives, and to commit to Tikkun Olam…repairing the world.
