Committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety for staff, clients and residential and commercial jobsites, Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) participated in the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Safe + Sound week. The nationwide event, held Aug. 13-19, raises awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces.

OSHA Safe + Sound Week

Safe + Sound week consists of teaching and promoting awareness to employees the true value of safety precautions, health programs, worker participation, and being able to identify, manage and mitigate workplace hazards before they cause any injuries or health issues. VCGFL staff attended First Aid, CPR, and AED certification classes and obtained certificates. Upon course completion, VCGFL staff obtained highly effective tools to further evaluate; develop; and implement an even more effective safety and health management system for the company.

Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their employees. OSHA’s role is to help ensure these conditions for America’s working men and women by setting and enforcing standards, and providing training, education and assistance.
